FEDERATION
The adult space fantasy
Federation is the adult space fantasy multi-player game by Interactive Broadcasting. Set within an exciting future scenario of interstellar trade and exploration, the game weaves a complex social and political world between players, both rivals and allies alike.
Federation is not just a multi-player game, it's an alternate existence. You can be whoever - or whatever - you want to be. It's a text-based game that needs no extra software - just your imagination.
As you progress through the game you take on more responsibility, learn new skills. New commands become available to you, and you are given access to areas of the game universe that you were previously closed to you.
You start out by delivering goods around the Solar System. When you advance a little, you can expand your operations and start hauling to other star systems, and visit planets written by the players themselves.
When you promote to the rank of Trader, you can make a killing on the Galactic trading exchanges, buying and selling your own goods for vast profits. Then you can build a network of factories to produce your own goods.
Increase your wealth and status enough, and you can design a planet of your own, that other players can visit and explore. You're given new commands that let you run the economy of your planet, building it up into a profitable world that attracts both traders and tourists.
Finally, you band groups of planets together into a duchy over which you rule supreme, protecting them from sabotage and invasion by the evil Martians!
THE SOCIAL SIDE OF FEDERATION
Federation is a game of cooperation. Although there are no formal teams and you play as an individual, you'll find it hard to advance in the game if you aren't prepared to ally yourself with others. You can gain a lot of knowledge by hanging around in bars chatting to other players, making valuable friendships!
The Federation universe, the playing environment, is known as Fed DataSpace, and the players form a community that lives, works and plays there. We provide you with the tools to interact with each other; it's up to the players to evolve the social customs for the community.
The social side of the game is highly developed giving you the opportunity to make friends and go to parties in the cyburb of Fed DataSpace - and above all, have fun!
ADULT SPACE FANTASY
Federation is called an adult game because the themes of the game are more adult-oriented than most multiplayer games. It's about trade, economics and politics, not about finding treasure, killing orcs, or shooting down planes. Therefore it appeals to older gamers. However, Fed welcomes younger players, but everyone is expected to behave in a mature, adult fashion.
Adult does not mean "anything goes". Fed has rules of behavior that players should follow, and the game aims to have staff on duty at all times to deal with any problems.
HOW TO PLAY FEDERATION
