My mom's fantastic almond roca

1 C butter
1 1/2 C sugar
3 T water
1 T Karo syrup
2 C chopped, blanched almonds
2 1/2# Hershey bars

In a large pan, melt butter. Add sugar, water and Karo syrup over medium heat, stirring occasionally to hard crack stage (300 F). Quickly stir in 1 C almonds and pour into 9x13 metal pan. Cool thoroughly. Turn out onto wax paper and spread with 1 melted Hershey bar and sprinkle with 1/2 C nuts. Chill till set. Repeat on the other side. Break into pieces. ENJOY! :o)
