Insane

they say my mind is twisted,
wrought into distorted collections, like
iron shaped by a drunken fool

they all think i'm crazy,
lost in my own self, like
a snowflake in a blizzard

i'm told i'm said to be weak
and can't help myself, like
an ignorant child

and if not weak, i'm said to be strong
filled with the fierce energy of a maniac, like
an animal caught in a steel trap

they say i can't change
there's nothing i can do, like
a man held down by chains

but the iron can be melted down
and forged again by a master's hand
and even snowflakes have
their own identities
even the most ignorant child
can be taught by a teacher
and an animal trapped
can be freed from its fate
and i- i may be surrounded by insanity
But I am not insane.
